It’s that
time of year again folks. Will you help us please?
CHRISTMAS FOR INCARCERATED YOUTH
Would
you help us bring Christmas joy to those
incarcerated?
We have secured
approval from managements at SJJS and JDF
to provide
Christmas treats and stockings; We will do parties
at the 2 SJJS locations. Some of our ‘usual’
providers may or may not be able to participate or
fully participate but we feel it very important that
we provide a blessing to those incarcerated as well
as the faithful staff supporting them. (SEE OVER)
So,
we are looking for homemade cookies & the like.
A touch of home via homemade is more important than
ever this year. For one of the SJJS pods all treats
MUST BE NUT FREE as one of the residents is deathly
allergic to nuts , nut based products or anything
produced in a facility that produces with nuts.
If you are providing nut free products please so stipulate on
your packaging!.
ALSO, if
anyone has access to travel size shampoo,
conditioners and non alcoholic mouth wash we would
be pleased to have them for the stockings.
HOW
THIS WORKS:
If
you wish to participate we look to pick up from you
the weeks of
11/18/2024
and
11/25/2024.
Upon receipt we repack into a variety using aluminum
‘hotel pans’ so we need the early arrival to get
this done.
The SJJS
parties are 12/7 and 12/14: JDF is 12/18.
If you
are unable to participate we would be pleased to
accept a monetary donation. If we run short of
goodies we will need to purchase. We also supplement
some of our regular bakers with dollars as they
would be unable to provide for us otherwise. Between
residents and staff we provide for around 650.
As
we begin our 29TH year ministering to incarcerated
youth let us make this a wonderful Christmas for
those so often written off.
Prayerfully and with thanks,
